BRACHIOPLASTY (Arm Lift)

Saggy arm tissue is one of the most common and distressing deformities seen in postmenopausal women. This condition is due to rapid weight loss. Unfortunately, this problem does not respond to diet or exercise and requires a graduated approach based on the accurate assessment of the skin and the amount of fat deposition.
When the degree of skin looseness extends more substantially toward the elbow a Standard Brachioplasty    often combined with liposuction can be the answer. The resulting scar, while extending through the length of the upper arm, from the armpit to the elbow is designed to be hidden along the inner side of the arm patient. While the scar is permanent and will be visible to various degrees with the arms uplifted, for the right candidate, it can be a valid trade-off to obtain a slim and firm upper arm.

Patients should also be aware that
ACCENT, the non invasive F.D.A. approved high technology radio frequency skin tightening and toning equipment is now available at the Clinique. It has been proven effective in improving the skin tone of moderately flabby arms through its deep heating and contraction of collagen strands. Liposuction and Accent toning can be combined when substantial deposits of fat are present. The combination of these 2 techniques, using accent at a 6 week intervals post surgery allows for correction and skin toning. Furthermore, scar reduction is also possible following surgery using our fractional laser.

MINI BRACHIOPLASTY (Limited incision arm lift)

MINI BRACHIOPLASTY or Limited incision arm lift is the preferred procedure when more skin sagging is present but mostly limited to the upper inner arm. When   the degree   of   skin looseness is   moderate and   confined to the upper   inner arm,   a   Mini Arm Tuck could be the only procedure necessary;   the scar is then limited to a semi-circular line hidden in the armpit, sometimes accompanied with a small dart   extending inferiorly. A wedge resection is performed at the armpit level, combined with liposuction when needed and preferably complemented with ACCENT treatments post operatively.
